Madison Bennett (b. 1993) is a book artist and researcher. She investigates lost techniques of medieval manuscript and parchment production as a PhD Candidate in Archaeology at the University of Cambridge—dually funded by the Cambridge Trust and Geoffrey Thorndike Martin PhD Studentship in Archaeology at Christ’s College. She received an MFA in Book Arts from the University of Iowa Center for the Book as an Iowa Arts Fellow and an MPhil in Archaeological Science from the University of Cambridge as part of the ERC-funded Beasts to Craft project. Her upcoming show, Praising Shadows, explores methods of illuminating and folding parchment.
